Landscaping / Maintenance Tech
Multiple Locations throughout CT, CT
Accountability:
Displays an active commitment to the mission of Girl Scouts of CT through creative and responsible performance of specific responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain all lighting fixtures
- Perform electric/fire inspections
- Perform security walks weekly around the perimeter of the camp and throughout parts of undeveloped camp
- Ensure all structures are locked
- Maintain utility reduction by ensuring all electric is off, appliances unplugged, heat is off or turned down low
- Remove all leaves from units around buildings and gutters of all structures bi annually
- Plow, shovel and spread sand or ice melt when and where necessary within a timely manner of snow fall
- Cut down dangerous trees as necessary to ensure safety of campers, staff and or structures
- Stock and supply fire wood for campers
- Arrange installation of and removal of Tents yearly. Installation of tents by 4/1 and Removal by 10/15 of each year
- Work 40 hour work week and overtime when indicated
- Complete work orders assigned return necessary paper work in a timely manner to
- Return all receipts from purchases within 48 hours of purchase
- Submit time sheets weekly (Monday of week after)
- Perform Landscaping duties as needed to provide a clean exterior at all times
- All other duties assigned
- Support all other staff
- Work at various camps as assigned
- Maintain various Service Centers as assigned
- Lead caretakers in projects when indicated
- On call various weekend and evenings
- Complete Task Lists when assigned
- Conduct Biannual Inspections
Requirements:
- Register as a Girl Scout of Connecticut
- Fulfill job requirements which may require long hours, evenings and weekends
- Ability to drive a truck, operate snow plow, tractor, chain saw and other equipment
- Ability to purchase supplies and equipment
- Ability to work with others
- Abide by Council Property and Employee policies
- Ability to lift 90lbs
